Herbs at Work uses a single essential cookie to keep you signed in while you browse. That cookie is HttpOnly, which means your browser will not expose it to scripts, and it is cleared automatically when you sign out.
We do not use any third-party tracking cookies on this site. There are no advertising pixels, no analytics cookies, and no embedded social-media scripts that read or set cookies of their own. The site sets no marketing or remarketing cookies, and no social-media plugin on any page sets its own cookies before you interact with it.
Under POPIA, the one cookie we do set is treated as strictly necessary — it supports a function you have asked for (signing in to your account and keeping your cart and checkout state) and it does not identify you to any third party. For that reason we do not ask you to 'accept' it through a banner, because there is no optional tracking for you to opt in to.
If you want to clear the sign-in cookie, you can do so through your browser's privacy or cookies settings — usually under 'Clear browsing data' or 'Site data'. Doing so will sign you out, and the next time you want to place an order we will ask you to sign in again.
Because this site does not set any non-essential cookies, there are no preference categories for you to manage. If we ever add analytics, marketing, or any other optional tracking in the future, we will update this notice and add a consent banner before those cookies are set, in line with POPIA's requirement that consent be voluntary, specific, and informed.
POPIA also gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, and to ask for it to be deleted, subject to the records we are required to keep for tax and accounting law.
